The event was a Celebration of Mimouna festivities, and focused on photographing and taking videos competition of historical monuments in the region of the Mellah of Rabat.
The event was a Celebration of Mimouna festivities, and focused on photographing and taking videos competition of historical monuments in the region of the Mellah of Rabat. The Jewish Community of Rabat attended the event to further explain the Mimouna Celebration tradition as well as the Mellah history. The students got the chance to learn about Mimouna Table and the different Moroccan Jewish plates. After that, they visited the Mellah of Rabat with Mr. Toledano, Rabat Jewish Community Leader, who talked to them about the Moroccan Jewish traditions and the relationship that Moroccan Muslims and Jews have. He also showed them around Synagogue Zaoui.
The students, who came from different parts of Rabat and Sale, interviewed the residents of the Mellah of Rabat about the history of the place and the coexistence between Muslims and Jews. They visited the different sites in the Mellah of Rabat and learned about their histories.
